Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy

Psychosynthesis is a spiritual and holistic approach to psychology that helps you take stock of your past and engage with difficult dimensions of your childhood and challenging phases of your life. It also recognises transgenerational and collective experiences and wounding that may also be expressed in your own personality and life. Psychosynthesis psychotherapy is a profound and positive therapy, focused on growth and development, leading to better self-understanding and the discovery of greater meaning and purpose in life.

What makes psychosynthesis uniquely powerful is that it serves the emergent part of you, helping you to recognise and express this dimension in yourself and, increasingly, bringing it to life. So, while it is a reparative therapeutic practice, it can also be a progressive one as it unlocks your highest potential and opens up new possibilities for you that might have mostly been dormant until now.

Many issues can benefit from psychosynthesis therapy, including trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, bereavement and loss, grief, relational challenges, dissatisfaction and loss of interest at work, demotivation, heart-break and breakups, lack of confidence, direction or purpose, midlife, identity or spiritual crises. Psychosynthesis is an effective approach for deepening self-realisation and awareness, understanding and compassion and for exploring the inner and outer reaches of yourself.

At a basic level, it is a type of talking therapy, developed out of psychoanalysis by pioneering Italian psychiatrist (and student of Freud) Roberto Assagioli. Through introspection and empathic self-exploration, you gain personal insight, moving towards understanding, self-compassion, forgiveness, expression, and connection which leads to healing, growth and development, helping you move away from self-loathing, self-sabotage, destructive behaviours, unhelpful mindsets,  internal and external conflicts.

In my practice, I use guided imagery, symbolic artwork, intuitive writing, journaling and meditation to aid your introspection, deep connection, realisation and expression. While acknowledging and working with the pain and suffering inherent in your personal history - which is an intrinsic part of the human condition. I will help illuminate and facilitate your ability to create harmony, wholesomeness, and full self-expression in every aspect of your life. Thus, Psychosynthesis´s orientation towards health and potential (rather than towards pathology) makes it a profoundly positive and hopeful approach to human development, one that is capable of unlocking life-enhancing transformation in individuals, couples and groups.
